Did you go into a pub between March and September but not buy anything?

dg writes: Once.
For years, I've always wished I had DG's ability not to feel the need to purchase unnecessary food and drink items while out and about
Can't boast not having anything delivered at all, but I haven't ordered a single thing from Amazon, or from anywhere outside the city. No non-work video-calls, either.

I suppose most people can get by without cash for a year these days, but I still try to use cash absolutely wherever possible. I've been leaving newly-drawn cash in the drawer for a day or so, though.
I can't say I have not been on any Zoom conferences but I deliberately keep them to the minimum. It is not my way of life either DG. Although I have had Amazon and other things delivered I have never had my food delivered that way, local Tesco just like you.
Does the “last 6 months” list consist of things you have done in the last 12 months?

I’m also slightly curious as to whether a point was made of maintaining this streak, or whether it evolved naturally!
Number 2 is the one that most surprises me.

Presumably this means if DG received or sent Christmas or Birthday presents to/from his family, friends or anyone else, they either fit through a letterbox or were digital.

Also, considering the amount of walking DG does, not needing to buy any shoes for a year without any prior warning is an impressive advert for whatever his choice of footwear is.
You may not have done certain things but you have entertained and educated thousands of people, kept fit and survived in a covoid-ridden London.
What is going to be the trigger that will result in you travelling on a bus again?
Number two is surprising!

My housemate must have had over 100 packages delivered to our house (and he moved in in November)...
For us Number 3 is the complete opposite. As a member of my household is in a clinically vulnerable group, we have not been to our local supermarket for nearly a year, except to collect a prescription from the in house chemist. We have instead switched to online deliveries for groceries (and indeed nearly everything else, including newspapers). I can't say we've been to no shops at all though - the local garden centre is relatively safe as most of it is outdoors.
I conjecture that, notwithstanding the no shops situation, you still have a mask with you whenever you leave home.

I'm very impressed by your self discipline.
I am personally funding Jeff Bezos's divorce.
When there's a knock at the door my partner says "are you expecting anything?" I just say "probably".
Then I get a nice surprise when I open it (I have a rotten memory).

(Why don't they ring the bell? Are they afraid it has virus on it from a previous visitor?)
I've just got a surprise delivery this morning which I didn't order and feel pretty sure that no-one else ordered it for me. I do not need or require cutlery.
Wow, number 2 is astounding!
I don't buy much, and when I do it's usually something the household needs rather than something I need/want.

So far this year, for myself, I have bought 1 reference book and am awaiting delivery of a t-shirt!
I am impressed and envious of number 1. I wish I hadn't needed to take part in any Zoom meetings but that's been unavoidable in my work. The ones I dread are the all day zoom events.

I've been one of those relying on home delivery through lockdown, particularly as my husband's job requires him to be tested regularly and isolate for days before coming in. As something of a luddite I never saw myself as someone who would switch over quite so readily to online shopping but now can't imagine going back.
Second the point about footwear, you're walking ~10 miles a day (see post Feb 28), so must have managed ~3000 miles on them.

That would easily get you across the USA coast-to-coast, or London to Bucharest and back.
For those curious about such things,
Jeff Bezos's income went up $25billion, Eric Yuan (Zoom founder/CEO) income went up $2.58billion. Billions....Billions if you are a Technoking (up $5billion) all in 2020.
I'd only been using my nearest supermarket (a Co-op), too, but switched to another after your reply to my 'Creme Eggs' comment brought my attention to the fact that their prices are more expensive on pretty much everything .
Shopping exclusively at Tesco merely indicates a lack of interest in food. Tesco and its shareholders are thriving in this crisis. Small food shops could disappear due to boycots from the likes of DG. Small shops are usually safer locations than crowded supermarkets.
Reality check: London E3 has no small food shops, and Tesco shares are down from £3 to £2.30 in a year.
There are several incorrect assumptions in the last two comments.
Joho: doorbells have a habit of not working, and very often you can't hear ones that do, whereas a decent knock should work every time! There's no time to waste when it comes to multi-drop deliveries.
