Thanks for doing an excellent evaluation of the Mayor's strategy. Something we do far to little of and hence fail to challenge the next set of contenders' wild promises.

Before you get to excited about the HS2 aspiration being met, back in 2013, 2032 was the completion date of the whole of HS2 to Manchester and Leeds. 2035 is now the possible date when the Euston to Birmingham section is due to be complete.
Quite fitting that many of Boris's proposals as Mayor were thrown apart by his disastrous time as PM. I'd argue he never cared in the first place.
TW, I agree. I think many of Johnson's ideas, both as mayor and PM, were designed in his head to be great things for which he would be remembered. If they resulted in improvements for the people of the city/country for which he was responsible that was only a useful by-product.
I believe even 2035 is unlikely for Euston HS2. I have 2041 pencilled in my diary, if I'm still around!
Nobody seems to have mentioned the Bakerloo extension.

What ever happened to the original reason for sending HS1 north of the river being so it could be continued northward with Stratford as the London stop?
The Mayor giveth and the PM taketh away!

I feel sorry for Sadiq - he has had a tough ride, dealing with the fallout from Boris (in both roles) and the pandemic.
It was only a few years later Boris created a 2050 Infrastructure plan; suspect we won’t get a review how that went!
Wot? No garden bridge in that lot?
It wasn't in the interactive timeline but it was in the main report...

Create new London attractions, such as our own Highline, Floating Village and a Garden Bridge.

...none of which have come to fruition.
Did tube wifi not reach the whole tube years ago? Isn’t the 2024 date you’re speaking of 4g/5g?

The Vision document also shows Boris's now well-known lack of interest in (or attention to) detail.
"the new high speed Javelin lunged back and forth, taking passengers from King’s Cross to the Games"
Those trains run to / from St Pancras, NOT King's Cross.
Boris has always suffered from verbal diarrhea or in his case talking through his a..e
