You, know, I thought yesterday it was Winchester! Of course, an after the fact guess isn't a guess at all. I'm frequently on platform 9 in Clapham Junction heading Basingstoke way, and have done the full Winchester route once; so when I read your posts yesterday, I thought to myself, 'sounds like Winchester'. What good is after the fact?

"Dont forget the diver sir, dont forget the diver"
That does reveal my age

Thanks for the beautiful shots. They took me on short spring holiday on this cold snowy evening.

The cathedral nave is breathtaking. There are some wonderful colours in the stonework - has it been cleaned recently? (By which I probably mean "in the last 50 or so years")

A friend of mine swore he once heard an American tourist say to his wife outside Winchester Cathedral "OK honey, you do the inside and I'll do the outside".

And if we're talking dated memories, how about:

You can remove this comment if you want but I thought I'd share this bit a weirdness anyway. Last night I had a dream...oh yes, it was my favourite video blogger who always says his name at the beginning and the end of his weekly 'report'...I applied "Hi, I'm Ed Winchester" [from The Fast Show] into this vision. Ha ha ha so you confirm it was Winchester.

Cathedrals like the Winchester is one of the largest cathedral in England. I wonder why did the management of this church impose a fee before entering its premises? Just curious.

There's a church, by St. Barts Hospital, can't recall the name, that is free for prayer, but four quid for visitors. Now I'm not really the praying type, but in that case I made an exception!

It's a donation, technically, but if I remember right it's a donation with a ticket booth and a turnstile.
