Roger the Crocodile is quite clever, (and futureproofed for the Sutton extension, shold it ever happen), but unfortunately it's topologically inaccurate as West Croydon should be west of the junction for the Addington branch
One of the rejected caterpillars looks like it would be subject to a copyright claim from the estate of Eric Carle, so you can see why they didn't go with that one.

I think Doris and Dave's appearances usually coincide with Comic Con at the ExCeL, so it's not usually 5 year olds seeing photo ops with them!
Dolly the Dingo for the Dangleway has my vote.
I would be very happy to see Scabby the Pigeon making public appearances. It might even convince me to go back out to the North Greenwich hellscape again.
Slowly the Snail for those long Crossrail pauses outside Paddington. But don’t worry folks, after May next year Slowly the Snail will be Harry the Hare - just don’t tell Greater Anglia cos they’ve got one too.
Swap the lineless leg, change the colour and you've got Lizzie Lizard
Is Roger the Crocodile named after after Roger Harding,, first General Manager of Croydon Tramlink?
Serge le lapin has been a fixture of the Paris Metro since the 1970's. He makes the occasional public appearance but is also found on stickers by the train doors warning of the dangers of getting your fingers trapped.
I am in no way accusing Mariah of plagiarising the Elizardbeth Line.
I can envision Ollie the orange Overground octopus, with many limbs splayed bonelessly over the map.

An observation on Crosslink (Liz the purple pearly queen?): quite impressive during the Tube strike yesterday.
Let's not forget Paris' other travel related mascot, Joe le Taxi by Vanessa Paradis
Are we meant to sniff a conspiracy theory here, given the suprising lack of Roger-based publicity? It might have been discovered that the entry was not all it seemed.
"or a mangy pigeon called Scabby for the cablecar"

It's comforting in a rapidly changing world, where prices and politics fluctuate wildly from week to week, that DG's scorn for the dangleway is an unwavering constant.
MSouthWestern Railways already has a pigeon mascot, named Wesley Peck, which has “sparked an unlikely friendship” with a seagull called, er, Sandy C Gull.
The brainstorming meetings and board presentations that culminated in the thought “let’s promote our commuter railway with avian vermin” must’ve been something to wonder to at.
Boris the Buffoon for the Dangleway.
What a fun post, and well done young Mariah for a truly inspired design.
Just seen the poster for Roger at Blackhorse Lane tram stop.
All Saints Primary School in Croydon have a copy of the entry form on their website. It mentions that a "selection of entries will be displayed at the Trams Visitor Centre in East Croydon" (which perhaps refers to the Tramlink Shop).
The Japanese public transit system is, if anything, overprovisioned with mascots at every level, so perhaps we could borrow some of theirs. I'm particularly fond of their monster-based solution to keeping children away from the gap.

Let's hope Roger the Crocodile has more of a life than the late lamented Sir Roundlington.
I mean I'm biased because I am the TfL manager for the DLR, but I absolutely love Doris and Dave, as the link to my "homepage" will demonstrate. I think Roger is just great too.
Instantly fell in love with Scabby.
