Well, except that I can't because I'd have to use a train to travel down from Manchester. And that's non-essential travel so is still banned.

Harumpf.
I was so pleased to hear yesterday that COVID-19 had become half has potent so we could get as close as 1m to each other (or is it 1/4 as potent - inverse square law?). I feel so safe now.
I look forward to your post-pandemic visit to Stockport and its Hat Works museum.
TomH - not disagreeing, but it's interesting to note that the World Health Organisation has always said 1m.
Well, the London Hat Museum couldn't function without a Head Curator, could it?
This is tongue-in-cheek I know, but most if not all museums really are struggling at the moment, and a lot of them did have special exhibitions or events lined up that may never be seen. For commercial ones there are jobs at risk, while for those that are primarily volunteer-run there's a lot of effort been put in that may be wasted. In either case if museums and other leisure attractions don't get through this our lives will be the poorer in future.
I imagine THE souvenir that most museums will be trying to sell visitors will be logo-ed face masks

Indeed I look forward to wearing my London Hat Museum face mask on the bus!
DG - Hats Off to you Sir for yet another great post, I generally find that you're head & shoulders above all other social commentators ;)
Chapeau!
Wole - agreed!!
I simultaneously laughed and cringed knowing this is exactly what it's going to be like!
It’s not that long since you took me in with another Hat Museum post!
Speaking with my trustee hat on, you can rest assured that our site is far from putting out irresistible press releases (going forward) any time soon. Much as we are working through many a challenge, I enjoyed the post.

I see it just as much a dig at how a certain part of the press tries to jolly-up some fictitious national celebration to join in 'Magic Monday' or suchlike in our droves.
The last time DG did a post on the London Hat Museum, I spent 20 minutes trying to find it on Google...
