I first read DG in 2007, I think, but I posted my first comment only a couple of weeks ago-- and it took me moving *out* of London to make me do so. Now I'm one of your readers from The World, hunched over the RSS reader in my mobile browser, anxious for my slice of daily life from back home.

yay world is winning. But only because the UK is still sleeping.!

Whoa, sense of de ja vu. Turns out I wrote this exact same comment 2 years ago. Loser.

One more reader from The World, this one from Vietnam.

I think you'll find you have a much higher number of actual browser visitors than most blogs. Yours is one of two I read where the comments are pretty much essential reading and an RSS feed isn't useful for that.

(London Reconnections is the other one)

Question 5 could do with a "Not Sure" option because even though I chose 2007/8 it could have been anywhere from 2004 onwards, I just don't remember.

Well, thanks to dg's complete (and indexed) archive, you could trawl through older posts to see what rings a bell...

dg, I recall the hassles you had in finding a way of keeping the archive complete and easily accessible: thank you!

I don't like the flashing box at the top of the results telling me I have five messages. Obviously I didn't click on it, but I hate to think what might happen if I did.

Yeah, agree on the ads, but beyond the Geezer's control.

I worked abroad for nearly a decade and found sites like this an excellent way of keeping my finger on the local pulse.

Now, back in the UK, I just enjoy reading a well written, interesting, entertaining and informative blog that often has something hpyer local for me (I live in Charlton).

I just wish there was an edit button for the comments so I could correct my appalling typos, errors etc!

Thanks for your hard work.

Wow, I'm a "typical" reader in every single one of those categories. I feel so mainstream. :p

Gosh, I had five messages as well. I hope they were all about kittens ...

Maybe you only get the "five messages" if you click the "female" box. As if we females would fall for such a lowlife trick.

If only you'd polled six months earlier, I would've been able to tick 'less than 20'...

And yeah, I got the five messages too. Ashamed to say I didn't bother to click on a single one.

How upsetting to find that as a UK-based 34 year old male reading the blog in a web browser I'm in the modal category for everything.

Mummy always told me I was unique.

When I started reading this excellent blog I was a Londoner and read it daily. Now living in 'Europe' I visit 2-3 times a week; it's the only London blog I still read regularly.

I *do* have a blog but haven't posted for over a year. Alas. So I ticked 'no'.

Interesting to see there are so many fewer female readers; I suppose it's the slight whiff of anorak... and I look forward to reading how these results differ *from* previous ones ;-)

Yay, I'm not mainstream.

Male, over 50, out of London, read daily, longish-term visitor, use a PC and don't blog - that's + - - + = + -

pretty much Mr Average

Every day I admire DG's erudite posts, if only I was so literate....

You have my vote. I'm looking forward to seeing how DG interprets the results in the morning.

@Chris P, you are unique, just like everybody else.

Okay... nice to know that by being a lady reader I'm definitely not mainstream.

Oh dear, I missed my chance to bump up the female readership by one!

Female - 20s - London - daily - 2007/8 - RSS - No

Special Bonus Answer: I'm single, chaps...

Flashing message alerts? I must say my online life has been transformed by the installation of adblocker software. It's truly amazing!

And, agree with you Suse... where are all the women?!? Why is 'anorak' a male phenomenon? Anyone? (At the risk of sounding inflammatory, are women too busy doing 'important' things?!)

Oops - I think that comment above was written more than 24 hours ago and I accidentally pressed 'Preview'. Happy Women's Day!
