That 3.9m height limit is a bit of an issue - slightly lower than a double decker bus. I wonder what was said at the design meetings.

If the driver of a tall vehicle were to take a wrong turn and inadvertently find themselves in the contraflow approaching the low section, how could they escape?
Two posts today about the unintended consequences of insufficient headroom.
Other references to the bus priority measures:

"a package of supporting bus priority
measures are being investigated on Stratford high Street and Romford Road" (pg 15) [2022 plan]

"The proposals could see a bus priority scheme put in place along the High Street as well as an improved dedicated cycleway along its entire length." [2025 news]

And a few references to potential projects in the LLDC Infrastructure Plan here: [2024 plan]
DG wrote, TfL noticed, buck passed - plus after May most things can be blamed on the previous administration. Any future scrutiny will get stuck in the administrative quicksand.
The money that has been spent on the High Street. There were bus lanes in both directions between Stratford and Bow pre 2005ish. Then the road was resurfaced with bus lanes remarked, for Newham then to immediately resurface lane 1 and not mark the bus lanes. Then came the bike lanes, a disastrously managed 2 year project which included Stratford gyratory even though there were plans and funding to convert the gyratory to two way. The gyratory section of bike lanes were dug up a year after opening. No wonder nobody has any money.
