You did not mention the Adventure Playground in Holland Park, surprised you missed it.
I also ‘forgot’ to mention the Ecology Centre, the statue of Lord Holland, the greenhouses, the Parks Police HQ, the youth hostel and the Ice House. My apologies.
Thanks for reminding me about this park. Haven't been for ages, which is a shame as I thought at the time I ought to make the effort to visit more often!
London's major parks reveal something of themselves, and communicate it to the visitor. Holland Park clearly told me that whilst I could pass through I wouldn't ever be assimilated into the neighbourhood.
No Peacocks?
Loved the adventure playground in the seventies. Thosr pre risk-asssesment days, hurtling down the slope in home made carts.
Holland park is one of my favorite places in London. I really like the Japanese garden, it looks great in nearly allseasons.
Camellia sasanqua is a type of camellia that flowers at this time of year. It comes in a narrower range of colours and flower shapes than 'normal' spring camellias, and is slightly scented.
I wonder, in the interests of impartiality you understand, if on a visit to Vicky Park for instance, you'd be equally ribbing passing comments on passers-by?
