On Wednesday, in BOLD RED CAPITAL LETTERS, I said there'd be a blog hiatus if any errors were reported in the comments. Within 30 minutes more than one person had done just that. Others followed. So the blog had a day off.
I was not... • quitting the blog • ground down by pedants • on holiday • slacking • dead Thanks for the joyful/ appreciative/ concerned/ hilarious/ hysterical/ mistaken/ misguided/ anxious/ paranoid / dreary/ bitter/ lovely comments. Today you're getting the post you would have had yesterday. |
Phew
|
I'm smiling knowing that the hiatus really was just a short gap. It was lovely to see how many people were concerned though.
I'm very glad to see you back. Now play nicely everybody. |
Ha! Had a really positive impact on the volume of comments though.. :)
|
Hence the obvious grammatical error which is why I commented in jest.
dg writes: You started this, Ken. Does this mean that the mystery count has finally reached one?! dg writes: No. |
Glad you have you back.
|
😀
|
Welcome back,DG. I hope you enjoyed your day off. Did you use the time to wash the curtains or turn out your cupboards? 😉
|
Clearly that should have been “glad to have you back” - ironically an unintentional error.
|
Early reminder that your grammar or spelling joke still isn’t funny, no matter how many smileys you use.
|
Welcome back DG.
Right, you lot, go easy on the spelling flames. |
Very glad that it was just a one day hiatus. I hadn't realised until faced with a future without a daily dose of dg how much I looked forward to reading whatever you want to write about. I can't remember how I stumbled across your blog about 10 years ago but am pleased I did.
|
They say you never know what you've lost until it's gone. Even if only for a day. Welcome back DG - and thank you.
|
So does this mean that even if there are factual errors (I'd have thought Fulwell/Fullwell was fair comment, and there was calling Brentwood Brentford a while back), rather than someone moaning about the use of English, or writing style, no one should say anything?
dg writes: Obviously it doesn't mean that. But a few fewer comments starting "So does this mean..." would be nice.. What about if a sentence doesn't make sense, or is unclear? |
Welcome back DG. We all missed you!
|
Phew! Got a bit worried there DG.
|
Big Grinning Smiley Face.
By the way, had dg not come back today I was going to suggest people read some of dg's blogs from the last 15 years. They are wonderfully entertaining and can provide many hours of enjoyment. Thanks again dg, I really appreciate your efforts. |
"few fewer"
Glad that no-one has been ignored... |
The mystery count is still 0, so it can't be for days without a post, much as that eventuality yesterday caused us worry!
I'm wondering now if the mystery count might be either "dates", or perhaps even "dates that go really well"? |
So glad to see another post and that the hiatus was only one day. I hope the super-pedants take note.
|
I echo Neesy - even without the hiatus (which is well deserved, DG is under no obligation to provide us with anything!) I've been reading 5-10 or old posts daily since I started reading about a year ago. Started from the very beginning - it's interesting to see someone change/develop over time, something you don't really notice from people around you who you see every day.
Heck of a lot of clicking to do that though! |
Yay!!! The universe has righted itself. No need to call the Doctor!
Welcome back DG. You were sorely missed. |
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
