Hmmm can't wait to read the pundits' analysis of turnout. It seems to be rising in the US and UK at least.

you missed out 'tried to vote but couldn't' this year...

It's a sign of the times that the percentage of voters has stayed relatively steady...until this century! I'm also surprised that the decades immediately following the suffragettes wasn't higher than those that came later.

Keep these posts in the 'pending' tray rather than archiving them - reckon they'll need to be rolled out again for a second election within twelve months.

The slight rise in turnout this time doesn't get over the fact that, for the second election in a row, the two leading parties still haven't secured the support of more than half the people eligible to vote, and that for the third election in a row, fewer people turned out to vote for the party with the most votes and seats than did not vote at all. Not healthy.

And it took around 34k voters to elect a Tory or Labour member, but 81k to elect a ScotNat, 120k to elect a LibDem - and the Greens got 285k votes for one member.
