"You've already missed the first post-Games cycling event" - not me; enjoyed an evening at the Velodrome last Friday thanks to your blog alerting me to the Revolution event!
Looks great! Can't wait to have a ride there.

Does the Lea-side footpath join up with the Lea-side path in Hackney marshes yet?
At Last
A tiny, worthwhile return for all that money wasted on the thuggidh & corrupt fascism of the "games" ....
However, I echo Dan Browne, as I will approach down the Lea Canal tow-path.
Is there / will there be a way in?
I assume that somewhere near White Post Lane, there might be an entrance?
Is that what this park is for - Cyclists? Give me strength!
No, you can't (yet) cycle up the Lea to Hackney Marshes.

And no, obviously the park's not just for cycling. There's plenty of space.
What's the Velodrome's nickname then?
I would assume: "The Pringle"
??
Some people may say we had too many bus related posts. Others may feel the same about OP posts. I (and many Londoners i believe) have never been there. But if i do go there, it may well be on a bus!
Useless piece of information for the day is that the velodrome sits plum over the old Eastway cycle circuit start line. Great to see a return of some grass roots racing to the area.
Re the ugly twin bridges - doesn't Tower Bridge look like this inside? Perhaps they're going to clad them?! :o)
Dan Browne: there's access to the park from a couple of places on the Lee Navigation towpath.

From the north, the first is at the newly widened Eastway bridge, where you can cut down the 'buses only' route between the multi-storey car park and Media and Broadcast centres.
The bridge at White Post Lane lets you in down by the Copper Box, and I have my hopes that there will be a gate into the park from the Greenway when that part of the park opens soon.
I reckon DG can write about anything and make it interesting.

Thanks.
I just hope that all the POW-camp barbed-wire, 4 metre-tall fencing is going as well?

dg writes: All going, thankfully. Here's the new wide-open top of the Greenway.
