Here's to hoping your new laptop lasts as long as this one.
15 minutes. WOW.

My 2011 laptop was never that slow - although I took the new Windows operating system a few months after it was offered.

I only replaced it because the cooling fan failed and it was 9 years old by then.
I still have an old laptop running Windows XP. All my other laptops are Windows 11 and I have replaced their HDs with SSDs which speeded them up.
Hope your new laptop serves you well.
You could try installing a version of Linux on your old laptop, which may give it a new lease of life
I bet that the blind will still display 'Bow Church'. I have been caught out by this sort of thing before. Hopefully, on routes where the buses have electronic blinds, they will state exactly where they really are terminating.
For 'Pedantic' - a recognised short-working point on route 8 is at Roman Road, has been on blinds for decades. Won't make the inconvenience any less.
Also for Pedantic, the electronic blinds were never changed when Wandsworth Bridge shut for refurbishment banishing all buses to the north of the river for months.
Don't think I've ever really had a device last 9 years! My new TV (barely a year old) has already started throttling... don't think that'll get anywhere near what one of my older TVs did.
In my end is my beginning - in Bus Stop M, as in so many other things in life.
Why can’t the 8’s operate via Bow roundabout, Bow Road , Mile End Road and Grove Road to reach Roman Road IN SERVICE?! Late-running 8’s do this regularly in the other direction when being short-tripped at Roman Road (Grove Road), albeit running empty.

It would also provide a common bus stop for buses to central London (8 snd 25) on the south side of the church

I think the last time something similar happened, and Routemasters on the 8 has to terminate at Old Ford (Ruston Street stand), L(R)T put on a special route 8A, using single-deckers via Fairfield Road. They days when every journey mattered!
The old laptop could be reimaged with Linux Mint or Chromium OS and still provide many years of good service as a backup machine--dodgy keyboard noted. But that's work and a bit of a change in experience

(ChromiumOS is effectively the free version of software that runs Chromebooks, without the ability to run mobile phone apps from Google Play store)
I was a complete Windows Boy, it was what I used at all my workplaces, and even ran it on a iMac. (Much nicer computers). Until Windows 10! Could have just been that my company didn’t implement it well, and it came with lots of “bloatware”? Anyway, switched to Apple Mac. That company? Caltrans DOT for California, who had previously supported Macs.
According to Apps, route 8 buses are now showing ‘Old Ford’ as their eastbound destination.
Buses terminating at Old Ford are running empty to the Fish Island stand (once used for the 339). Driver reliefs are carries out by taxis running from Bow garage.
