More sex and debauchery. Ugh!
Reading this made me realize I missed mine. Today I’m at 20,021 days. Funny thing DG, I grew up in Northwood, other side of the golf course to you. I could probably have seen your house from mine. We might have even met. We have same time-based cultural references, geographical. transport experiences. Hope to enjoy your writings past 30,000.
The minutes and seconds thing is a bit arbitrary, as although you were there, you can't verify the accuracy of their record keeping, or the reliability of the relevant time piece, plus are you counted as born when the first bit of your body appears, your head appears, when all of you appears, your first breath, the umbilical is cut.
I have an official birth minute, as recorded in biro on the identity band round my tiny wrist.
Is the event of day 10,005 linked to the event of day 10,004? Ouch
Much more interesting than buses :)
Congratulations on your special (er, what to call it) Thousand-day(?)
I used to go to the Olde Coach House at about that time - a non-romantic friend used to live in Daventry, and it was a nice place to have a drink and a meal when I went to visit him. Odd to think that we might have been in the same place, long before I was aware of your existence...
Well, there you go - I hit 2 billion seconds today. I would have missed it if I hadn't read this post.
Gosh, I have 3 SDs coming up soon. Thanks for the tip-off.
Amazing details, when will the diaries be published?

Today is 10,004 for me. I can barely remember this Saturday already.
Time is an artificial construct made to try and fit in with the natural world, hence the need for leap days/seconds etc. I'd rather count something unusual but entirely natural like the number of full moons since I was born.
There's a nudist beach within reach of Luton?
Holkum maybe.
As long as you keep on writing, I've got exactly 13 days' notice of each of these events. So 20,000 days for me will be Christmas Eve.
If you're marking seconds, do you need to take account of the 27 leap seconds which have been added at various occasions since 1972?
To be fair, any party which lasts less than 27 seconds isn't worth having.
Hopefully days 20,008 and 20,010 to keep up the tradition of reporting on your former life at double the number of days.

Looking forward to some racy posts and enjoy your celebratory meal.
I missed 2 milestones last month, but have another coming up next year, and it appears that some sort of celebrating with both St George and Shakespeare is in order!

My first diary was a stocking filler for Christmas 1969. I was 7, it was an Aristocats one and I duly started writing in it on January 1st 1970.

After a month of pretty much saying "today I went to school" (x5, though occasionally Friday was "today I went to Brownies" just to keep things fresh!), "today I watched TV" (Sat) and "today I went to Sunday School" (Sun) I gave up for 10 years until I finally had something slightly more interesting to write!
Why stop at celebrating Terran based milestones. What about orbits of Jupiter, or Saturn, or Neptune?
The website I linked to also allows you to check planetary birthdates.
20,000 days ago I was in my 3rd job since leaving school.
Remarkable that you had worked out your 10,00th day with a calendar and calculator I doubt if many people did that.
Congratulations! Nick Cave made a documentary to celebrate his '20,000 Days on Earth' - perhaps you could watch it to celebrate: imdb.com/title/tt2920540
I happened to visit a similar website back in February 2018, and discovered I had missed my 12,000 days landmark by just two days. I was quite annoyed with myself for not having discovered sooner.
Oh no, I missed a significant "birthhour" by less than a day. Thanks DG for posting this! [first time commenter.]
The hours need to take into account whether daylight saving was in force at your nativity.

Calculating from the official start of the AD system (the date of the annunciation, 25th March, AD1 - and yes, I know it must have actually been at least four years earlier) today is Day 738310 of the Christian Era.
I really like the idea of significant dates. It's such an off-beat way of saying how old you are. Also for the record my next SD is 10,000 days on 7 July next year.
Strictly speaking, a billion seconds is a thousand times more than 31 years. The mathematically correct name for 1,000,000,000 is a milliard.
1,000,000 is a million. That squared is a billion (1,000,000,000,000), a million cubed (to power 3) is a trillion.

We changed the common usage of billion to 1,000,000,000 because that's what America used, and that may well be because someone there made a mistake once.

Outside of the English speaking world, a billion is still a million squared.
I am slightly unclear about the order of contact lens usage learning. Surely no-one can learn how to take them out without first having learned how to put them in.

I would take a lot of persuading to poke around in my eye neigbourhood. The thought sends shivers down my back.
Time of birth is when your whole body has delivered rather than just head. Cord clamping and cutting/placenta delivery is separate.
