I doubt very much an amateur boxer who works on a tugboat is upper class but you never know. A fine tradition. Contrary to popular belief, rowing is a sport open to everyone. Try Poplar Rowing club.

There is still a Swan Lane by London Bridge, where there is the Old Swan Pier (or at least will be again). And there used to be the Old Swan Stairs and the Old Swan Inn.

Apropos your latest video (Avenue Rd tram stop), one of the opening shots of the cemetery at Birkbeck looks as if you have captured the final resting-places of W.G.Grace (family grave), Thomas Crapper (shiny white Doulton) and William Walker (with diving helmet on top). You are probably aware of the other abandoned curve, from Birkbeck round to Norwood Junction.

Haha the top photo shows my office on the right (Cottons Centre, the cream coloured building. Best view in London?). I sit facing the window (I photo every non passenger vessel), and got an unexpected treat to watch the start of the race which I knew of but didn't know the date!
