And the toppled ones in Kingston!
I don't suppose anyone ever actually makes a phone call from this phone box.
Big Ben, as per Great Tom in St Paul's Cathedral, is the hour bell, as you surely (risky?) know...

Someone should monetise this. Like Platform 9¾.
This seems a bit mean spirited. Is it any different to someone from London taking a picture in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris?
Doing the tourist thing with relatives visiting from overseas recently we came across it and wondered what the queue was for. My heart dropped when I realised, but fortunately they didn't want to participate.
That first box is the more impressive K2 design which may add to its popularity, the others being the later and rather more common (so technically more iconic?) K6.
'I wouldn't have done it that way'
Another 'I wouldn't do that, so why would they' post. Sigh.
If Parliament Square is too busy then someone has thoughtfully compiled a list of 7 other London locations for your 'phone booth' photo.
Diamond Sneerer
You should also see this for a photo opportunity; people were queuing up to an hour or more to take a photo in a Swiss village, all because of a Netflix series called 'Crash Landing on You.'
I think that it is occasionally healthy to sneer - and that DG shouldn't be thought less of for observing and describing this patently absurd spectacle.

I do wonder what would happen if someone decided to stand next to the box and collect a 'photo fee'.
If you go early in the morning or late at night you can do Platform 9¾ quite easily.
