Is this the view of Dan Gricer by any chance?
It now looks crazy that anybody, especially those in the industry thought Crossrail would be open by now. It'll be great when it is though and maybe we'll all forget about the delay. Hopefully it won't turn into a Berlin airport type fur cup.
It'll fully open at some time in 2020.
I think you're right Anon, 2020 looks likely based on this.
That tfl board paper....
Given the significance of the item, the number of pages devoted to Crossrail / Liz Line is astonishingly few. And not a word about the radio signalling interference issue which is preventing the new trains operating into Heathrow.

Additionally. I didn't see a single sentence anywhere in the board paper about the total fiasco that is unfolding on the Barking Gospel Oak line. Did I miss it?

Thanks for the pointer - DG
The (brief) comment doesn't do justice to the seriousness of the problem in that route. (My opinion of course!)
What about the doors opening on the wrong side of the train at Stratford the other day? Will they fix it or just create a "Mind the Train" announcement?
PLEASE HOLD ON. THE DOORS ARE ABOUT TO OPEN ON THE WRONG SIDE.
...perhaps it delayed due to Brexit, seems the common excuse for many an ill nowadays
When you look at things like Liverpool Street Central Line escalator work still going on, whatever is happening at Moorgate (still just a concrete shell) you do honestly wonder how we ever ended up here. And how the mayor didn’t notice... (Because it’s all north of the river and he stays south?)
I live on the cross rail route (west of Paddington). House prices are gone up already plus there are a bunch of discount hotels open nearby in anticipation of Crossrail. It will be interesting to see the affect on the area due to the delays

Ps. Keep up the good work DG
Apparently Spurs are to blame.
I live near Paddington, and it was obvious to anyone who wanted to take a look past the hoardings that the Crossrail work was about a year (if not more) behind schedule.

We are now around six years of restricted station access, with much of the inconvenience for entering the station apparently preserved for the convenience of the contractors

I understand there have been challenges, but I fail to understand how they have had such an impact on the above-ground work? Or is it that - once the target date was known to be unachievable - did the contractors just say - sod it - we'll drag this work out as long as the money holds?
