May I suggest another title?

Dear DG
The Illustrated A to Z of Obscure London Backwaters sounds absolutely fascinating! Can I preorder a copy?

Hi DG

There has been some stuff on the web about narrowboating on the Bow Backwaters and of course there's 'London's Canals' - was it by Derek Pratt - that has some less well known and disused bits.

the 2012 big book of kittens

how about 'Travails Above Ground - A Miscellany of London's Rail Replacement Bus Services' ?

Has no-one already ripped off your blog posts and made a print on demand book? I was looking for books on an obscure subject and clearly the top 10 books that came up on Amazon were all collations of Wikipedia articles.

The other book I thought someone should do is 'all the cafes pubs and restaurants within 50 yards of the North and South circulars in clockwise order'.

Speaking of the Olympics, LOCOG has just announced that it oversold tickets to the synchronised swimming by 10,000. Oops. Now, after all your ticketing tips, that sounds like a blog post right up your street...

You can never have too many generic books of a vaguely interesting selection of things to do in London laid out around some sort of theme. Definitely worth a try...

Tom @ Tired of London isn't going to mention this "interesting selection of things to do in London laid out around some sort of theme", nor has he asked me to, but I feel I should...

Shouldn't you probably write the DG Oddbits Quiz Annual?

Thanks DG, very kind of you.

@ Amber - not London specific, but last I was visiting your green and pleasant land I was drooling over a copy of 'Church cats' - beautiful photos of cats who reside in churches across Britain. Alas weight restrictions were prohibitive....

I'm still wondering what eventually happened to the book that DG *didn't* write ...

@Antipodean: It came out, written by somebody else. I've seen copies for sale in Waterstones.

@swirlythingy - oh thanks .. I didn't even realise that the 'cat was out of the bag' re the subject of the book!

I'd like to have a copy of "A Few Walks Round London You'll Never Follow" - if only to prove you wrong!

I found this out when I searched on Amazon about a local bus company. "Wow!" I thought, "an article about my local bus company's route, I didn't think it was that popular!" ... until I read the very familar words that I once wrote when I collated the Wikipedia article (and subsequently had to fight off the deletion rounds, as apparently every bus route in London is important but one to Watford isn't! but I digress...)

Do you google phrases from your work DG, to ensure people aren't snapping up your work? Or use unique phrases so when you see them you know you wrote it ;)

@ Antipodean...not really relevant to DG's post, but the Church Cats book is aveilable on Amazon, so you could have it sent to you
