It must be the highlight of your weekend.
Only one highlight each, obviously.
No more than 20 words, thanks.
First come first served.

I've been 50 miles away.
I went to a town I've never been to before.
To a party, yesterday afternoon. My 60th (birthday in April, but party in June in the hope of better weather and less plague), km the local community centre. About 60 attendees.
My belated 60th birthday party, yesterday afternoon, in the local community centre. Held belatedly in June for better weather.
Took dog on a walk round Marble Hill park in the morning sunshine. His 8th birthday.
Went to the pub in Chelmsford with for lunch with friends.
Seaside - yesterday I walked 9 miles from Wells-next-the-sea on the North Norfolk Coast Path. Glorious.
Stayed indoors: Spent Monday to Friday walking the Cotswold Way so happy to have a rest this weekend.
Up a hill: drove up Box Hill.
On a march - I was on the Pride in London march with a team supporting Scout Pride. In a pink stetson.
50 miles away to the seaside but we managed a quick swim - bracing!
I might sneak in and tick off abroad - 3 weeks interrailing during uni holidays that currently has me in Sofia, Bulgaria
To the shops. Buying clothes in bustly Bluewater for first proper beach holiday since 2005.
Aberdovey: played golf

Catching up with friends over a few beers at the “secret” garden bar at the Southbank Centre
To watch sport.

Here's hoping!
The whole of the weekend has been a highlight, including two nice celebratory family meals to mark the respective graduations of the twins on consecutive days.
100 miles away.
To Combe Down Tunnel, 83 miles by train plus 25 miles by bicycle.
To the cinema, twice! ‘Inside Out 2’ with my daughter and her friends on Saturday.Review: it’s not as good as the numbskulls. Then ‘Kinds of Kindness’ on my own this afternoon. Review: it’s bonkers but I think I liked it.
Lovely few hours at Moors Valley Country Park, including a ride on their miniature railway behind a steam engine. Nice route, lots of crossing your own path etc.
"No more than 20 words" proving problematic.
Having now read the 20-word limit:
To the cinema, twice. One U certificate and one 18. With teenagers and alone. Independents in Ealing and Acton.
≥200 miles away - in the Yorkshire Dales.

Regards

Sort of museum - very old (900 years ) anyway. Guided tour of St Bartholomew the Great. (If Friday counts as weekend)
Finally had the chance to pop into Marlipins Museum in Shoreham - allegedly the oldest secular building in Britain. As expected, staffed by a brace of slightly dotty but very enthusiastic volunteers.
I am a volunteer guide at a local museum here in western Ney York and spent Saturday showing visitors around. It is the Antique Wireless Association's museum of Communication Technology. Full of old radio and TV sets plus a reconstruction of Titanic's radio room and a telegraph office. Well worth a visit if you are ever near Bloomfield NY!
"No more than 20 words" still proving problematic.
50 miles away
Went to Harwell Open Day, first since 2019 and saw radioactive bananas (didn't actually have to travel to see them) and became a Muonaire.
OK this is cheating, but: to a "stately" home – To a friend's enormous house in highland Scotland, where I fed a cubic metre of rhododendron into a wood chipper.
To a stately home - Hatfield House. Loved the gardens and the Renaissance Sculpture especially.
To the theatre: To watch Closer to Heaven at Turbine Theatre; a fitting addition to (London) Pride weekend
To the Phare de Richard former lighthouse museum in the Médoc, France - small but illuminating
Went to the King Charles I pub near King's Cross for its cider festival.
Electioneering - not the highlight of my weekend, but I did do some leafletting on Saturday
Tried to drive to London for a picnic with friends but after two hours had got around 30 miles so went home again.
