2004, Green Wing
It certainly is. I went round to Bobby Shome's house for tea and we sat together to watch the start of the new channel. Happy days.
I only recognized the names of 3 of your selected programmes, and they were pre 1991. Knowing the names does not mean I watched them, just heard of them. I use television to watch the London news, old movies or a special event being broadcast live. I find TV studio productions not worth watching. The last special events I watched were the Olympic/Paralympic opening and closing ceremonies, the latter on Channel 4.

1995, Father Ted.
1982 Nightingales
1992 Desmonds 2000 Black Books |
Also early on:
One Summer, Dream Stuffing |
I always liked TFI Friday - thought Chris Evans was good then before he went more and more downhill
As well as the ones mentioned above:
1986 - Equinox 1987 - After Dark 1988 - Whose Line Is It Anyway, Fifteen to One 1989 - Absolutely 1994 - Time Team 1998 - So Graham Norton 1999 - Grand Designs, Queer as Folk 2002 - Teachers 2007 - Skins |
Wot? No Salvage Squad? No Secret Life of Machines?
I'm disappointed. Not at you. At them. |
Pleased you enjoy Fresh Meat but amazed you haven't included The Inbetweeners! Increase the monthly Becks intake by a bottle or two tonight and then settle down and catch up with The Inbetweeners on Channel 4's 4OD player - enjoy!
And two classics in my mind: Hill Street Blues and ER which seemed to advance the traditional regular TV cops and robbers and Hospital set formats to a whole new higher level.
The Inbetweeners started on E4, so I disallowed myself that. Otherwise it would definitely have been in.
Football Italia (1992), presented by the excellent (and underused) James Richardson. Cricket on 4, when they first took over was very good as well |
Ah! themroc
Been waiting 30 odd years for them to release the dvd |
Murun Buchstansangur.
Some good picks there. I was just trying to explain Wanted to someone in the pub the other night. I really like the show with one important exception. Richard Littlejohn is a terrible human being and an even worse TV presenter.
What about "Cheers"? Just started being repeated on ITV4 - was it shown on Channel 4?
Haha So glad to see Pob on there! Everything to do with that programme from its content to the backstory about how it was conceived and how the shows were baffles me quite frankly! Brilliant television!!!
What happened to FATHER TED !!!??
That has to be a Channel 4 highlight !!!??? |
