Some of that is quite stylish...

The DLR logo on the signs at West Ham isn't the original 1987 version (Navy blue and red, Title case, different typewriter-esque font) but the first subsequent (and not entirely successful and not enduring) rebrand from a few years later (1994?)

Roll on Elizabeth, anyhow....

dg writes: updated, thanks.
The Liverpool Street one was an odd one, because the bar of the roundel was printed on the enamel sign, but the circle was stuck on. It was kind of inevitable it would get peeled off.

And I'm going to take credit for that Stratford one based on my comment from yesterday :)
So at TCR are they new signs or stickers covering the original new signs that said Crossrail?
20 days? Do you know something we don’t?
IF you havebt already seen it you may be amused by this...

dg interrupts: Seen it, not amused by it.
The March 2022 date is probably the date the design of the diagram was finalized rather than the expected opening date.
I hope during the transitional phase that TfL manages to communicate properly the disjointed interchanges at Liverpool Street and Paddington and manage expectation of higher frequencies to come when the route is finally joined up. When the line is fully operational it will be interesting to see how they communicate the peak services to Liverpool Street mainline. Will it just be left to platform and onboard announcements rather than notes on the route map?
I think it's been commented on before, but...

dg interrupts: yes it has. That's a debate for another day.
That’s a 2nd generation DLR logo at West Ham. Overall, they seem to have started the updating on the Central and Jubilee Lines first. This leads to odd situations like at Mile End, where Ealing Broadway gains stickers on the Central but not the District, even though they both are on the same sign panel.
Now London Reconnections is reporting it too. Nice scoop, dg!
The signage for the western entrance for Tottenham Court Road (halfway along to Oxford Circus) was fully exposed yesterday, even if the building still looks like a building site!
I daresay you've done a post at some point about the small family firm on the Isle of Wight that is making all this signage. Can't say I've done a search to find out. There was a feature recently on BBC South Today about it...
Now the BBC have caught up too…
Just announced - The Elizabeth Line will open on Tuesday 24th May!

dg writes: see last sentence ;)
Now that we know the date, how many minutes of delay would that mean?

dg writes: 1817340
"This sign's been sparklingly ready for several weeks, even though Stratford isn't getting any direct trains to Paddington for at least six months. The TfL Rail brand dies imminently anyway. "

Have things changed from this blog post? I thought that in stage 3 only the Abbey Wood - Liverpool Street - Paddington services would be Elizabeth line, with the Liverpool St - Shenfield and Paddington - Heathrow/Reading services remaining TfL rail until through services begin.

dg writes: yes.
I was wondering about the 'twenty', suspiciously precise !
Minutes of delays after opening will be the acid test of the value of delays prior to opening. Hopefully fewer than other lines.
Hoorah!
I'll not be jostling with all the VIPs, anoraks and media on day 1, but am thoroughly looking forward to finally riding the new trains, and exploring the stations and tunnels soon after. Braced for months, probably years, of further signage nitpickery and announcement whataboutery.
It's been announced - Tuesday 24 May!
24 May, according to Ian Visits!
Why a Tuesday and did anyone get it right in the DG sweepstake?

dg writes: see sweepstake post.

Do you think there might be a soft, unpublicised launch at some point on Monday 23rd?
TfL list the Newham changes for 21st May.
Does your delay minutes take into account that the first train leaves Abbey Wood at 0534 (according to realtimetrains)?
In Hong Kong the East Rail line extension is due to open on May 15th. In some ways it's similar to Crossrail - linking a 'suburban' line to the city centre, delayed, over budget, and with construction problems. And similarly the opening date has only been announced in the last few days - presumably to avoid any risk of giving a date and then missing it.
What's been the reason given for...

dg interrupts: not today thankyou
I was at Tottenham Court Road a couple of days ago, and spotted one sign they’d forgotten to change. It’s an exit staircase from the Northern line towards the concourse.
One side of the wall had the new Elizabeth line sign whilst the one directly opposite still had the covered up Crossrail one. I’ll check tomorrow when I pass through there.
Has the DLR changed colour?! The central line diagram shows a blue background for the interchange with the DLR at Stratford.
olook, it’s probably just the colour balance on the photo or the original line diagram. Look at the District Line stripe in the same image – that too is usually much greener.
I just so happened to be at Forest Gate a few weeks ago and while I was there I made sure to get a picture of the (rather awkward looking) TfL Rail sign on the purple roundel knowing it wouldn't be there much longer. Incidentally, I noticed that the Elizabeth line name was already visible on the sign at the top of the stairs so I got a picture of that as well. That sign also looked a bit awkward since a separate panel only showing the line as far as Liverpool Street is being used to cover up the full line map. This extra panel sticks out about an inch in front of the actual board.
Neither the National Rail Journey Planner, nor those of TfL or Trainline, show any direct trains between Abbey Wood and Paddington or Liverpool Street for 24th May (nor a date in mid June)

However, the TfL Jpuirney Planner does show direct Northern Line trains between Moorgate and Kennington on and from May 20th
Opentraintimes has the times
e.g. here.
Those trains on OpenTrainTimes are shown as "Ordinary Passenger (Unadvertised)", so they won't show on public journey planners.
