Coming along nicely, that spell

I wonder how many of the allotmenteers are planting even medium term crops? New potatoes going in now should be out before July but not much else other than salad crops will have time.

A great shame.

But it's all worth it according to you, isn't it?

Not only the (10bn and rising) cost, but the bulldozing of the "little people" too?

Whilst I think that everyone accepts that they will go (unless they move the Olympics somewhere where they can affords it that is), but they just must finds them somewhere else for these people. This stands for all the things that the Govt and opposition talk about, food miles, health (fitness and healthy eating), environmental care and sensitivity). Anything less that a completely suitable site is a travesty.

I think when you saw 'talk about', Mr BW, you may have put your finger on it.

Amanda's photos are indeed worth looking at. Those sheds are a triumph of individualism and recycling. They reminded me of the shed that won the 2005 Turner Prize and which the Tate described as "a buttress against the pressures of modernity, mass production and global capitalism”. Maybe the allotment-holders should ask the Tate to put its money where its mouth is...
