We were fascinated by the Isle of Wight connection and spent some time on the A.J.Wells website. Our tour was led by the architect and a project manager and it was difficult to tell who was more excited by various features. But they were both very excited by the contraflow system in the showering area for those who ran/biked in where a wall could be switched depending on whether it was more men or women wanting to shower at any one time. Brave new world! There was talk of a university renting some of the space which would be ironic.
Yes, the Wells company is a true cottage industry with ten members of the eponymous family amongst its employees. Which is a further source of irony, as firms with immaculate technical prowess and attention to detail are the exception rather than the rule on this side of the Solent.
My mum lives in North Walsham. They've been doing up the town centre there for months, so I guess the Gary Drostle mosaic will fit into that scheme. I look forward to seeing it !
My office location is moving close to the Rowe soon (into the "Hickman"), so I will get to see how the Rowe evolves once it is occupied.
Just over 30 years ago I did my Foundation year as a mature student in what was then Cass. It was the most enjoyable year of education I've had the good fortune to experience. That was thanks to the tutors Nicky and Nico (a couple) and Nicky's brother Nick (!), and to the wonderful group of my fellow students, a diverse set of younger and older, British and foreign.

And now the place is a bloody office block.
