Wot, no ploughmans? £9.99 for a big lump of cheese and crusty bread. |
Out of interest DG-were there more women than men at the luncheon club? dg writes: Yes, by a margin of about 2 to 1. |

You've entered Withnail and I! |
Ah - our Village Pub only does confit of yadda on a bed of yadda yadda. It's either gastro or pensioner specials round here. An acquaintance of mine has just opened a pub catering for the middle ground and he's raking it in. |
Our Norfolk village pub has a microbrewery in the garage. He does a Pensioners' Special on a Thursday lunchtime. I avoid the pub on Thursday lunchtime now, as there is always a nice old man who buys you a half of Landlord's Special and when it's your round, he has a double Scotch. The beams are real. So are the pamments on the floor. |
"From all across the surrounding area they come - ladies who lunch and their associated husbands." Am I the only one to spot a small misunderstanding of the concept of 'ladies who lunch'? |
do you *always* have your lunch at your desk dg? you must work with a bunch of dullards who aren't worth hanging out with! |
