That "dangled my camera over the edge" shot made me feel a bit queasy. Good shot though.

Mr Pedant writes:

It wasn't the creepy Julie T character, it was the glamorous one played by P Hodge. As Ms Weldon's book says in the opening para:

"Mary Fisher lives in a High Tower, on the edge of the sea: she writes a great deal about the nature of love. She lies."

I must get out more.

Memories of Geography field trips on hot days with squashed sandwiches, to see Ox bow lakes and thinking that could happen to the Isle of Dogs. Well one day in the oh so distant future. Thanks for stirring up my pool of memories and bringing that back to the surface.

Great field trip... much appreciated.

Rich in history, geology and natural wonders.

Must be nice to get out into the sunshine after that awful experience down in the tube!

As I understand it there are no more lighthousekeepers... they've all been automated or made obsolete by GPS. This I see as an unfortunate loss to society... leaving only fire station lookouts as the other main draw for those seeking employment that offers solace in the wilderness.

:0)

Chalk cliffs are always good for a spectacular shot. I seem to remember you did a bit of cliff-dangling when you went to Dover. You've certainly got an eye for the best (d)angle.
