So...

This was an object lesson?

can't stop smiling

are you back or just practising ?

Yay!

Be prepared. Get a bike.

Excellent piece of writing DG. Kept me gripped all week. Very thought provoking. But nice to see you're back....

Of course it could happen.

But I reckon we'd notice.

I actually had a nightmare about it last night- thank goodness, praise be etc....it feels like Easter. For DG has risen.

Glad to see you're back - very thought provoking - I have had a look through some of those links and obviously many people spend a lot of time thinking about things like this - I'm just glad it's not my responsibility, otherwise I couldn't get to speep at night for worrying about what might be.

Of course it could happen.

But we wouldn't all be reading DG - we'd be out there terrified.

You mean it wasn't real? Does that mean I'll have to take all this loot back?

Oh.

I don't care if it happens.

I've just bought a Z470xi mobile.

Thank God [breaths sigh of relief]

The relief of having you back, outweighs the terror you've put in my mind!

yep, it's all being taken care of, how reassuring. The document on Operation Sassoon in section 5 at http://www.londonprepared.gov.uk...s/
emergplan.pdf
assures us that the "updated version is due for completion in 2005". We're in safe hands. Well, *I* feel safe, but then, I'm not in London...

Welcome back DG.

I was almost too frightened to log on this morning. Chaos has ended: You are back!

PS- DG while you were "away", the tube has been cr*p (or my line has), the Olympics are still bleeding us all dry, and the Dome is dommmmmmed.

Welcome back, DG you had us all worried for a moment! Perhaps if this ever does happen you WILL take the train to "safer" climes???

I've just bought a Z470xi mobile.

Heh. I was wondering if the passive advertising would work.

Whew! Glad to know you are back safely.

welcome back.

Gutted. I was just expecting you to post.

Psych.

So...I'm glad you are back and all, but...what happened to our hero? Was he eaten by an angry mob? Or, will I just have to buy the book. Hint hint.

It was very entertaining and thought provoking, but how come 'it' was just limited to East London? Surely if they are going to do it, it will be all of London. I think we should all be brushing up on our survival skills, maybe have an emergency bag packed by the front door?

"Sadly, there is no comparison - each American policeman is fully trained in nuclear, biological and chemical warfare," he said. They are? What fairyland is this guy living in? And what good are all these web sites telling people what to do in the event of an emergency? Some of these people can't find the weather page on a nice morning-so in the midst of an attack they find their local web site with instructions on evacuation and then follow them? This is nonsense with meetings and minutes.

Cancel the bugler, last post no longer needed.

Cancel the burglars, looters are no longer needed in Bow...

Terrified Tina, I don;t see anything in the story that suggests that it was limited to East London, or even to just London.

It was an excellent piece of writing that really preyed on my mind today as I took the central line to Stratford with the kids.

Just a government exercise, then. Hmm.

Just as long as it didn't reach Norfolk...

Don't you mean: "Just as long as DG didn't reach Norfolk", Z?

Could be worse...

Chin up!

Well, it looks like you haven't gone away after all. Good.

BTW, excellent piece of writing. I was hooked. You're too good for this blogging lark

OK, that's enough hysteria
Let's move on...

Still like to know what caused it all.........as if yesterday's news wasn't instructive enough......

Yeah, made me realise that *I* can't be the only Nice Lady in the village with a Food Hygiene Certificate because I might be away when It strikes, and, according to The Rules, if I'm not in the Village Hall, no-one can be fed by the other Nice Ladies.

I've seen the beds you Londoners will be sleeping on too. Rather you than me. Book your spaces at The Coven now. £500 a year retainer secures...

I believe some accommodation has just become free in Suffolk.

A couple of London related plays coming soon to Theatre 503 in Battersea...

Ship of Fools (parallels what the burghers of Basel did in 1492 - sending away the 'fools' on a boat, with London in 2007...put some London unemployed on a bus and send them North etc) and...

London Calling...Surviving the City.

More here.

Best, rashbre
