Interesting that even an intelligent person like you in perturbed times displays the well-recognised irrational desire to return to what one is familiar with rather than a place of safety. Its not even as if you own the property and need to protect it.
If I were in your shoes then through choice I would be hot-training it to a dull East Anglian village to be surrounded by family in a place that the authorities appear to have deemed as safe.
Of course that may turn out to be the wrong decision ...

I did not miss the "disinterested". Indeed at least twice and probably more in the past I have commented on it. However I take an attitude of "change what you can, accept what you can't". Besides, I might be paranoid but I get the impression that each time I, or anyone else, picks up on it DG delights in misusing it in the following post.
Of course if he does then that proves that we are currently in contact with him !
I have to say it still grates with me everytime I come across it in an otherwise well-written piece.
If it get to me and you, think what it does to Blue Witch.

I can happily confirm that DG is compiling some stats on how many times he misuses things, and how many comments we spend discussing it. I expect a post on the subject in.... ooohhh... about 2 years time

Hang about: when a sentence begins within open parenthesis (not brackets, Gladys), doesn’t the full stop also go within the parenthesis? (Not aftr, Gladys.) Other than that, I'm with you, Gladys. I mean, fancy a pedant missing a full stop! Let he (or she) wot is without grammatical (or punctuation) error cast the first stone.
