There was a sort of commemorative stencil on the low wall next to the former Board School (though it seems to have been removed thoroughly, as there is no sign of it in your Flickr photo):-

The testimony from Mary Ann's father at the inquest (http://www.casebook.org/official_documents/inquests/inquest_nichols.html) wouldn't have sounded out of place in a modern courtroom. Plus ça change...
On a side note, a chalk line around a dead body is merely a forensic fiction, almost never used in real life.
