Have you tried getting hold of one of these things?

A very helpful chap at our local Game shop said they shifted 300 of the tings within three hours of getting them.

....their next due delivery is February.

Finally a video game to get couch potatoes off the couch and using more than just their thumbs!

No doubt it will revolutionize & improve the general national health & welfare of the first world.

I got a Wii back in November on the release date here in the US. I was "crazy" enough to wait in line for twelve hours, but the missus paid for it as an early Christmas gift.

The odd thing is, I'm not anywhere near what would be considered a hardcore gamer. I just had a feeling that this was something different and worth the wait.

DG speaks the truth. It's so much fun to play, and even my 65 year old father-in-law loves it.

It has my bowling style down pat, by the way. I start off strong and crap out near the end. My score is inflated by about 25 points on average.

Hmmmm not convinced. The idea of being 'physical' inside is really not new and using a computer console to play 'realistic' games makes me feel, oh less than excited. Have people tried going outside? Maybe they should get a life? Reading is good too. As Sir Bob says- 'Is that it?'.

I went to the Science Museum's Game On exhibition a few weeks back - lots of chunky old computer games, and a Commodore 64 in a glass case! Cracking stuff.

The only computer game I ever got into was Colossal Cave Adventure which originally ran on a 1970s mainframe. It was a test only adventure which meant you had to use your imagination.
I don't have a link but a PC compatible version can be found by Googling the title.

I don't think there's anything ridiculous about the name "Wii" since it has a high recognition factor... the only problem is what to call the next version... the "WiiII" perhaps?

DG, your email address doesn't seem to work. Can you email me? I've just discovered your blog today and it's fabulous.

Ta, Charlie.

I think the Wii is a little ridiculous for a name. I've already brought a full office to hushed tones after mentioning that I'd spent the previous evening playing with my friends wii!

With a name like Goldenlad, you're not exactly discouraging people from thinking along those lines, are you?

My cousin's five year old son said to me recently, "When I'm eight, I can have a Wii". Luckily, being at the forefront of technology as I am, I wasn't immediately concerned that he had a very protracted urinary problem.

I've had my Wii since release day. As Josh said above I'm not a hard core gamer either but just loved the whole idea behind it.

Wii sports is as addictive now as it was three weeks ago.

The weather channel is also spookily addictive and can't wait to try the orchestra conducting game!
