I chanced across Corona Heights once, and sat on that very rock and watched the city's lights come alive as the sun set behind me. Very memorable.

There are numerous sights along les Gorges du Verdon I recommend, if you ever get the chance.

Everest and Double top. Maybe together.

Table Mountain in Cape Town - as Sir Francis Drake said in 1580 "The most stately thing and the fairest Cape we saw in the whole circumference of the earth". Of course I'm biased its where I'm from!

I broke my leg on Beckton Alp (sounds like a song but isn't, yet)

Haven't visited any of the others. Maybe I won't in case there's a link.

Uplifting.

The Munroes Blog is the next logical step. You know it makes sense.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Too grey.

The top of the Scott Monument on Princes St. Edinburgh offers fine vistas of the city. Pick a clear day, and hope you don't meet anyone on the spiral stairway, its a bit tight.

Alternatively there is 823ft (251m) of Arthur's Seat to climb again vistas all round on a clear day.
Nice spot of hill walking 10 minutes from the city centre.

CN Tower - good in 76 but went back in 1992 with then bblbf of a few days (who became bblbw). Went up to the higher deck - even better view but much scarier especially when sat on the handrail and had to lean on the glass to keep your balance.

If you're looking for buildings, then the top of the Severalls Water Tower might be to your taste Looking out over miles of countryside and the city of Colchester is quite a sight.

Climb Lions Head in Cape town much better than Table Mountain, as you get to look at the mountain as well.

In New York the Rockefeller Building is probably a better bet particularly as you have a good view of the Empire State and there tends to be less queuing. It also overlooks Central Park.

How about Ranworth Church tower? Not very high but lovely views across the Norfolk Broads and a narrow circular stone staircase to get you there.

Mount Taranaki (wikipedia can tell you all about it). Knowing it's possibly overdue for an eruption could add an extra frisson of excitement.
