We have sorted this one this year.
We're getting married just after Christmas (in London I might add), so spending it with my parents. As my birthday is on 26th, I couldn't imagine spending it anywhere else! So we don't even have to contemplate spending Christmas with his parents - not that we ever would, that is almost a sentence worse than death, and anyway, they'll be seeing us a couple of day later. Woo, one big party!
Roll on the arguments about where people sit at the reception. :|

At least when you go to them, you can say "we have to leave now". When they come to you "You have to leave now" is, well, difficult.
