Your Scrabble two-letter words are only "official" in the US, appearing in the 'Official Scrabble Players Dictionary' (OSPD), derived from Webster's dictionary. UK play uses 'Official Scrabble Words' (OSW), derived from Chambers. Tournament play nowadays uses SOWPODS, the direct sum of the two.

Words present in your list not allowed in UK (OSW) play: AB, AL, DE, PE.

Postcode pairs allowed in UK play not present in your list: CH, DA, FY, GU, KY, PH, PO, ST.

I learn something every day, thanks.

My list is now updated to include only UK-acceptable Scrabble words.

I have, in the past 4 years of reading this weighty e-tome, come to expect a level of intricate detail generally only seen on train platforms or in philatelic socities.

Today marks a new LOW.

Ah, the 389 bus route. Possibly the shortest bus timetable in London?

Almost there - you need to change 'PE Perth' to 'PH Perth'.

Ah yes, sorry.

pH - that well known measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution, which is a real word and not an abbreviation. Apparently.

Isn't blogging educational?

Caramba!

I hope these lists didn't just suddenly occur to you.

Apparently pH stands for potenz Hydrogen but this alone does not stop it being a word in its own right e.g. Radar.

Is the 379 in a category of its own for being the least optimised timetable in London (16 minutes running time in service per hour) ?

This lot should see off any lingering David Jason fans.

Then you can have PE - peterborough too.

I'm confused as to logic of the coins list. You've included the extinct halfpenny, but only one of the two 5 and 10p coins.

PE's not an official UK Scrabble word, apparently.

And point taken on my inconsistent mix of post-decimal coinage - the old 5p and 10p coins are now included.

How about the old 50p? *gets shot*

Isn't there a £5 coin too.
And what about the old £2 coin?

How long is the W7 bus route - it only goes from Finsbury Park to Muswell Hill?

harriet - apparently the W7's nearer 3 miles than 2

I thought BS (Bristol) was a word in Scrabble. It appears not...
