There's bugger all at Hatton Cross, but that's never prevented the piccadilly line from stopping there.

There's an urban farm with llamas in Hatton Cross. Isn't that worth a tube stop?

This is all very off topic but ...

The Piccadilly Line stops at Hatton Cross because there is a demand for an underground station there. Something to do with people going to and from work as I understand there is a major centre of employment nearby and many jobs are located in peripheral buildings near Hatton Cross. Also the workers don't want to get caught up with the crowds in the airport if they can avoid it.

According to the stats for 2004 at http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tube/
compa...iesandexits.asp
the station is actually over three times busier than Heathrow Terminal 4 underground station.

As Ian implied, I once thought there was no longer a good reason for a station there but it shows how appearances can be deceptive.

I also use the station a lot because I live in south-west London and I can take a bus there if I'm going to the airport.

There's also the (rather aircraft-swept) village of Hatton there. And llamas! Llamas are my favourite.

That's just behind my mum's house!

If I know Newham Council, they probably tarted up the lifts and the whole block for a visit from her maj. I Hate Stratford at the moment, the whole area is a massive building site, full of soon to be 'affordable' apartments. I just wonder, who will be able to 'afford' them, doubtful it will be a locals.......... Actually have you seen the building they are putting up near Stratford station? The 'Stratford Eye' I see the council tennants there didn't have their light reduction taken into consideration. Still lets look on the bright side, once all the buiding works has finished, it might just be stunning!!!
