Phew, thank goodness for that!

How about doing a contrast of street signs from south and north London? Say Stockwell vs. Hampstead; Lambeth graffiti vs. Victorian signage - lots of hilarity in that I reckon.

Or, even, a post on the bloody disgraceful lack of street signs anywhere south of the river: it's like going to the back of beyond with a blindfold on, most of the time. Even with GPS nav. systems or an A-Z.

Not that I am a north-of-the-river snob, no, not at all: I just like being able to find my way around without searching for half an hour for the location of a bloody street name - it does seem that south London fares very badly in this respect.

*expects to be smacked by a few Sarf Landaners*

Perhaps you could do a post about glebe sometime. There are lots of Glebes and Glebelands in the A to Z.

Any relation to Denzil Biro?

Street furniture kills: report on the anti bike (motor) friendly signs. bring back hanging, of signs at high level, and cholera, that worked. Where are those work houses and debtors prisons?

I have a sign in st john's wood that says W10 (not NW. Shall I send it in? Do I win a prize?

I thought you'd have kept going for another couple of days at least - there are all those signs in the City for boroughs which no longer exist - Borough of Holborn, Borough of Finsbury, Borough of St Pancras.....

wimps and gimps unite in one long moan about lack of staying power on street signs.

Is this a sign of the times? Has Diamond Geezer lost his direction?

The readability of this Denzil sign in all-caps is pretty poor compared to the genuine Bow Road below.

Modern machine used by mongs who have none of the training, and taste, of the specialist who put together the signs of yesteryear.

Girl, I'm coming after you...
