We are never going to get you to write "uninterested" when meaning showing a lack of interest are we ?

Whilst the use of disinterested has started to mean this (my dictionary says "not universally accepted") its original and normal dictionary definition is "unbiased" and this is still its generally accepted meaning.

Judges are disinterested. Sinn Fein MPs most certainly are not.

Actually to be really pedantic there aren't any Sinn Fein MPs. Strictly speaking you only become an MP when you swear allegiance in the House of Commons.

Whilst my interest is dissed on the specifics of language (it evolves, get used to it) I have to laugh at Gorgeous George levelling a "dereliction of duty" charge at anyone other than the face that he sees in the mirror.
