It's 17.40 and I'm just coming round, not because of an excess of alcohol on my part but due to the excesses of everyone else and an exhausting night of work, making sure there were ambulances ready for those who couldn't stand up after midnight.

I was having a similar idea for a movie. One in which people abandon London Transport and use hot air balloons to travel to and from work. It begins with one commuter getting off a train and screaming, "I'm mad as hell and I ain't gonna take it any longer". So he comes up with a plan to build a hot air balloon that takes him from the roof of his company building in central London over the Thames to his leafy suburban back garden in south London. Soon the craze takes off and nobody uses London Transport again; buses are parked in roads; trains stationary on the tracks (no change there then) and the Tubes empty and stopped at stations with the tannoy echoing through the Underground incessantly, "Stand clear of the doors please".
