The 159 used to my bus in my St.Reatham days.... Are you sure you're not doing the 1000009? |
Diamond, do you also do nightbuses? Route 189 is nice, passing Abbey road, for some fans, passing great busy streets and green fields... |
Diamond, a truly inspiring look at busses, thank you. |
Sorry, had to be 186, I always get confused. My apology |
Nic - unfortunately 1000009 = 293 x 3413, so it's not prime. |
Well, I prefer the 189 to the 186, anyway - and, come to think of it, of the two it's the only one that goes dahn Abbey Road, or anywhere near it. I reckon you were right first time round, Dmitri? |
True lol. I finally had it correct when I said route 189, as I really mixed them up sometimes. Both leave at Brent Cross shopping centre, that's why. |
159 running day was superb - as well as the 31 normally rostered 159s, there were 24 guests and 13 privately owned buses providing moral support! And all the service ones were FULL to bursting. |
It was hard to believe just how many old vehicles there were along Oxford Street at lunchtime, and that there'll not be any there at the same time tomorrow. |
I got a 159 from Westminster to Streatham, and later (on a bus even older than a Routemaster - it was like being in austere just post-war london i guess...) back to Oxford Street. I couldn't believe how many photographers were lining the route from one end to the other, how many flashes went off as we passed. Getting rid of the routemasters: only some kind of dehumanized moron would do a thing like that. (to paraphrase Ken Livingstone) |
