a two fingered salute to anyone who tries to change the way i lead my life. whoever did this will never put us down. they will never win. that is why we are londoners. and yep, tomorrow i'll be back on the top deck of the 15.

LOL @ Inspector Sands.

I think many people won't be going into work tomorrow (it will be Friday after all - what's the point?).

A lot of people won't have made it home today, and will probably have to stay overnight in offices.

Let's hope this is the end of it all.

Good for you. I don't know if I'd be able to cope if I still lived in Hackney.

Damn right, dg

You tell 'em, DG. Business as usual.

Oh, and well done the emergency services. Ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Respect.

All my sympathy DG, glad you're OK.
Well said!

Well after making it home to Essex from west London I probably won't be going in tomorrow but I'll definitely be there Monday :o) I have a feeling work are going to encourage me to stay off till then anyway

Respect, DG. Very, very glad to hear you're OK.

First of all, very glad to hear you're alright.

And I absolutely agree, London cannot be defeated by this. I'd definitely be back on the tube tomorrow morning (but I don't live in London).

Bloody Londoners - I knew it! It's that Blitz spirit again, isn't it? :D I'm enormously proud of the cockney refusal to let anything get in the way of day-to-day life. Good on yous - show the world the real way to deal with terrorism isn't to let it drag you down into paranoia and fear.

I'm really glad too that no-one I know of seems to have been hurt or caught up in it all too badly.

(There's controlled explosions going on left, right and centre here in Edinburgh; bits of the city centre and the airport have been closed off and on, evacuated then reopened, for most of today. We're all a bit jittery.)

Glad to hear that you're OK, DG.

Luckily I was working from home today, but went through Kings Cross yesterday on my way to a training course on Wardour Street. When I'm next working on central London I'll walk down to Blackhorse Road as usual and use the Tube.

My thoughts are with those who will never use the Tube again.

Good for you - life must go on as normal.

Glad you've checked in. After checking family and friends are all OK I'm just now checking London bloggers: every time I see another London blog update on bloglines, I relax a little more.

What did you think of Ken's speech?

dg writes: absolutely spot on

The No.30 bus stops at the end of my road. I get it regulally - tuesday evening being the last time. Indeed East London seemed to get a lot of the kicking I guess due to its financial links. Well Fuck Them, frankly. Fuck Them. I prefer to turn to yesterdays news of the Olympics - of hopes, and dreams and wanting to make a better world - not the mud and the shit and the death of a small bunch of extremists. London is great, I am proud to live here.

I`m in Cumbria, so I`ll probably not experience this. But I still feel for you all.

I live abroad, but still have loved ones there (and they're all safe). Still, my heart is low, but I know London will emerge better than ever.

Sure next time i fancy a drink in town, it's a long walk, and even longer when you've had a drink or two.

here here.

or is that

hear hear?

Well said. The timing couldn't be worse, could it? We can't let these creatures affect the way we live or they will have won.

Definitely!

It's disrupting my life a bit, because I live halfway between Russell Square and KX (and close to Tavistock Square, also). 'A bit' meaning I have to walk around the cordoned-off areas to get where I need to go.

But I will happily hop on a bus tomorrow if I need to.

god i love Britain.

Here Here to all you said and good to hear you are OK.

My heart is with you all, but that's the attitude to have.

The freaks who have committed these mindless atrocities have nothing to offer except hatred, violence and death.

They shall have their reward.

London will come through this - proud and resilient - as it has done so many times before.

Of course, the victims and the injured are in my thoughts and prayers.

On talk radio this morning here in Melbourne commentators were analysing Ken Livingstone's speech and calling it one of the best un-prepared political speeches ever.

My sister, brother-in-law and nephew all live in London. My sister works near Aldgate station, fortunately she took a day off and was walking down the street with her 4 year old son when she heard the blasts. We didn't hear from her for hours, my family in Australia were in a right state until she was finally able to get through (around 1:30 am our time).

Needless to say, our thoughts are with those who were not so lucky.

very well said. my thoughts and sympathies are with the victims, but my faith in the people of london has only been strengthened.

That unprepared speech by Ken is now online if anyone wants to read it. It was a bloody good speech he gave on the spot to reporters yesterday morning.

Mayor condemns terrorist attack as cowardly - statement 7 July 2005

Your courage and good cheer are inspirational. God bless and keep you all safe!

I'm in work today. Trains are all working. Damn that Blitz spirit, I could have had a Friday off!

They can't stop us, and they won't stop us. That's all there is to it.

Nice speech from Ken, wasn't it?

Glad you are ok safe.

London is strong. If they think attacking us is going to break us they are wrong. I shall not live in fear. Not for them I wont.

My thoughts are with the friends and families of those who suffered at the hands of these thugs.

Londoners will not allow these terrorists to intimidate us, will not give them the satisfaction of seeing us alter our lives one iota. We will of course be, as we've always been, vigilant and defiant.

How reassuring is it though to see how wonderful our emergency services and government responded to the crisis. We have the best services in the world to respond to such horrific events.
