Interesting read this morning, especially about the line 4 rail system.
As far as the ULEZ cameras go, they are *either* nowhere near as conspicuous as the CC ones, or nowhere near as comprehensive.
Some of those announcements are rather superfluous. But none are as ridiculous as the announcement at Olympia!
What about Ealing Common? Piccadilly and Sub-surface stock share the tracks there too.
How long until the list of pointless announcements is added to by "Alight here for City Hall" on the southern Dangleway. Canning Town already has signs "change here for City Hall" on the jubilee platforms in letters so small, and on signs so low that nobody on a train has a chance of spotting it through the crowded platform.
No wonder they are skint.
How they must sigh when your e-mail address pops into their inbox...
I feel like it might be prudent to bookmark this post for future London Reconnections Christmas quizzes.
The ULEZ camera locations will doubtless be crowdsourced over time (although there will be mobile/popups). I wonder if publishing such data is unlawful (would take a specific clause in enabling legislation I think, and regular speed camera databases are a precedent).

The way this data will "leak" over time will be from experience of people who a) register for Autopay (£10 one off), at which point the system charges you only when it spots your registration on a camera so you can legally drive without paying (sometimes)
*AND*
b) some of those registered drivers take obscure backstreets to try and avoid likely camera pinch points.

Some likely locations can be spotted (e.g. Along A41).

A great unfairness of the system is potentially you would need to pay to relocate a vehicle out of a suspended parking bay to another nearby.
Scott: Judging by the spelling, grammar and punctuation I think it unlikely that these original requests were made by DG.
Interesting to see Neasden and Willesden Green listed as short platforms for the S7 stock despite those platforms never being used and those train never calling there.
Removed, thanks.

I think there’s a few more hardly-ever-used platforms on those short lists.
One way the location of ULEZ cameras will become known is by people who get caught by them and insist on seeing the proof. It should be possible to identify a camera's location fairly easily from the images it takes.
(Some cameras on the original CC zone had to be moved after it was proved from the images they took that they were capturing vehicles skirting the edge of the zone) people
That pointless "Olympia London" announcement must be to keep Olympia's marketing people happy, much like the cumbersome shoehorning-in of "ZSL" before "London Zoo" at Regents Park.
Pedantry corner (or should it be tautology corner?) "the years in which step-free interchanges on the tube network became step-free"
The other problem with the zoo announcements is that the 274 to the zoo entrance goes from Baker Street.
I know the Overground wasn't a 'thing' when Canada Water station was built around 25 years ago, but I'm surprised no provision was made for the possibility of longer trains in the future.
