30. Saw the Apple Maps car recently in St Margaretโ€™s, was on a bus though so Iโ€™m not likely to be in the picture!
16. a similar thing happened to me whilst stuck in traffic on a roundabout in Barcelona many years ago. I was on a my Norton Commando at the time, amusing for the locals sitting in their cars.
23. I'm drawn to your suggestion that this year has been an apocalypse. Surely the main revelation is that many more people than you'd imagine are incredibly selfish and dumb - and thankfully some people are self-sacrificing and heroic.

Never risk a surely.

9. Thanks for the tip about Hordes of the Things, Iโ€™d not heard of it until now.
30. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ looking forward to trying to spot a DG in a "not his best shirt", somewhere in Bow. Any clues as to its colour? ๐Ÿ˜‰
23 - DG buying a 2021 diary in October 2020 is the light of hope in the depths of darkness (or someone else looking at their phone).

29 - would you have been hit by the relatively harmless leafy end of the branch, or the more harmful tree end of the branch? Where there's blame there's a claim, PTSD following the incident and ongoing worry about stuff falling on your head every time you go out.
30/15. Jo W - I think he likes bright red t-shirts ๐Ÿ˜‰
24 One of my trips I will finally find that narrow staircase.
26 Never realised there were problems making gravy, always works for me.
30 Maybe we will soon see a pixellated photo of DG. You can find one of me but I won't tell you the link.
5. Great track, though maybe not so much at 1am.
11) Thanks to my local Tesco's, I've been eating hot cross buns long after Easter (right through into September). It's one of the things that's helped make 2020 a little bit more bearable for me.
30. I'm slightly surprised how often Google streetview renew their pictures, at least in urban areas.
28. Be cautious of a Rough Geezer taking exception to his number plate being photographed by a Diamond Geezer.
Tues 1. As a long-time Hammers fan, I have not been back to the Boleyn Ground since the move to the London Stadium. But growing up I started going to Upton Park in 1960 and went many more times in the 1960โ€™s / 70โ€™s / 80โ€™s. Not so much after that but it was still a major part of my personal history. I have not been to see them at the London Stadium and given the current restrictions Iโ€™m not sure when that might happen.

Mon 7. The catchment area for some of the Southend / Westcliff secondary schools is big. As well as using the C2C line to get to / from them, a fleet of buses are also used to bring in students from across South-East Essex.
17. Ah thank you. I knew one was due soon but hadn't realised it was already out. There's been a glut of books published lately so I missed this. I have a voucher to spend so a purchase is imminent.
17. I think I must have got lucky in the reservation list because I had time to read it and pass it on to my mum to read and return all before it was due back - and I wasn't rushing either! Excellent story.

28. Saw a Mercedes from the bus yesterday with the registration A 5EX U and thought of your post.

29. Good choice!
9. Just in time to catch the first episode of HoTR! I suspect I might like this as I came across Elven Quest on BBC Sounds earlier in the summer, with Stephen Mangan and enjoyed it a lot. Always up for a really well done spoof.

23. I bought my 2021 diary for work on the 10th. Not liking the choice of colour Paperchase have gone with for their range in the format I prefer - it's metallic baby pink but called lilac. Oh well, there's always 2022.

My personal diary needs to be ordered from WHSmith, but that won't be available until November. And I'm coming to the end of my 1 day at a glance diary which allows you to record 5 years on 1 page. Being able to see and recall what you were doing on any one day in the last 5 years is quite the eye-opener... Though it does spook your colleagues out if you recall details from 5 years ago with them!
5. Womack & Womack and Battlestar Galactica would be a good night for me. Hope it was the proper show and not the Ron Moore abomination.
15. Red T shirts - Surely this must be direct proof that DG or Best Mate are actually Tom Scott of Youtube fame?

17. What did you think? I felt it was not the best but still very enjoyable, and the closing scenes had a bizarre connection to the first 18 years of my life.
30. The Google Streetview car also passed me as I was out and about. I was as irritated as the last time I passed it.
11. Hot Cross Buns and Creme Eggs - now old hat! Just started on my supply of Aldi Mince Pies today!
5th - clear breach of lease by partying neighbours - report to managing agents of the block.

10th - clear breach of lease by squirrel gaining unauthorised access to balcony.

14th - clear breach of landlord's responsibility to fix things promptly, whether they're within guarantee or not.

14. ActonMan, that's the seventh time you've invited me to have a stern word with my landlord, and also the seventh time you've jumped to incorrect assumptions, so I'd be obliged if you could stop telling me this.
9. Despite having listened to Radio 4 comedy since primary school, this had completely passed me by. I'm especially puzzled that I didn't hear of it from schoolfriends with similar tastes.

30. Caught for posterity riding my bicycle through central Maidstone โ€“ slightly disappointed it's now been updated.
30. I saw an Apple Streetview car on the 12th Sept on Brownswood Road. I wonder what's to come out of that.
26 - I totally get the gravy thing. Trying to make 50 mL or so rather than 280 is hard; itโ€™s either too liquid or too gooey, rarely just right!
Days which have not inspired comment:
2 3 4 6 8 12 13 15 18 19 20 21 22 25 27

(which is the highest number of leftovers to date. I shall try harder next month)

Man of Kent - you can use desktop Streerview to change which images are displayed and see yourself again. Used this to prove that the tree in my driveway had indeed leaned over 30 degrees over ten years in order to get it assessed.
13th - DG, unlike you to let a typo slip through. Prising, not prizing.
1. Upton Park, 10 years ago today.

Re: days without comment - ever thought that maybe more might engage if there was less chance of transgression, leading to castigation? Begone pendants! Woe betide anyone mentioning a typo. I will continue to risk a surely, but your trigger response may well discourage others from commenting.

Still enjoy your writing, and respect that it's your playground so we play by your rules.
Begone pedants, surely?
