I'm assuming not literally meet. DiamondTours not happening yet... |
Not yet. It's an idea for the future though |
Sounds good. Followed by picnic in Hyde Park. Or sauntering off for sushi. |
If it's road tours you want why not try the M5 or M6 sight guides available from publishers Severnpix (http://www.severnpix.co.uk/) I have the M5 edition and it has kept many journeys down to Devon and up to Brum interesting! |
I'm trying to avoid motorways this week, but there is this similar book about the A272 along the South Downs. |
Thanks for that link to the logic of road numbering dg. I've been telling people for years that there IS a system to it (which is generally pretty straight forward) but no-one has ever believed me. |
Enjoy - The A1 is a road close to my heart. I've driven the whole length in one day, and a bloody boring day it was too. When did it get those extra two miles though? Last time I checked it was 407. |
I'm reliably informed (warning, big file) that the A1 is 409 miles long, but I'm not driving it to check. |
http://www.20six.co.uk/KateEvans Have you heard this song about London underground? It made me laugh. Keep it up Diamond we love you! |
There's an A666? Really? I think that's just FANTASTIC. Absolutely bloody fantastic. I spent the first 18 years or so of my life living a couple of yards from the side of the A303 trunk road in Ilminster, Somerset. It was one of the last places on the route to get a bypass. The best part was sometimes lying awake at night and listening to the nuclear missiles passing through on huge transporters - although, sssh, I'm not supposed to tell you that. |
Even better Vaughan, there's also an A666(M), which is a tiny motorway spur off the M61 on the outskirts of Bolton. Unfortunately the A666(M) hasn't made it onto the Pathetic Motorways site yet. |
The writer of Pathetic Motorways has rather an attachment to exclamation marks! Always a sign of a deranged mind!! |
