well bugger me - I do believe you've succeeded in making it sound positively exotic and intriguing - surely a first for Stanford-No-Hope (or was it Grays?) I think you should divulge the destination, don't worry I'm sure the Essex Tourist Board will be able to cope :o)

Hey Geezer!

Even though I live in The Gulf, I was born and raised in that area you visited. Yes, I know its dull but theres something beautiful about the estuary- try and visit Coalhouse Fort sometime. The walk from East Tilbury rail station down to the river is magic too. I'm serious!

There is something strangely alluring about the Thames estuary, probably because it's so enormous and flat and (generally) ignored, and it might be really interesting to go back and explore the more remote parts.

In fact I'm almost looking forward to picking Havering or Bexley out of my random-London-borough jamjar. Almost.

Where's the affordable housing is what I want to know.

Matt - it's somewhere with a crap bus service, so you wouldn't be interested. I wasn't.

that's very clever what you did with the colour. just like a sunrise. showoff!
i prefer bluewater to lakeside. dartford bridge takes my breath away. but i usually recover in time to eat hot dogs in eds diner.

Well, London's bus service is crap...

It'd be the wrong side of town for me - my local buses-to-be are the 514 and 564 (every 30 mins)
