Lucky for you (and your pen) that the 16 goes no further than Cricklewood Garage these days - if you'd had to stay on to Neasden (pre-1997 terminus) or Alperton (pre-1970ish) you'd have had to get another one.

You won't enjoy the 25 at all, but the 36 will cheer you up (hey, who would have thought maths could ever have come in so useful?) Don't fall off the edge of the earth when you do the 81. And you can do the 121 and 144 in the same day, as both pass through my manor.

Great series - as usual!
Matt

I'm stopping before I get to 121 and 144 I'm afraid. Or maybe that's just as well...

There used to be a Chinese takeaway called 'Chasing The Dragon' just before Shoot Up Hill.

ohmigod, you're going to be catching the No. 25 from Oxford Circus to Ilford, next. It's a bendy bus now, and what might surprise you, then... Stratford? If u haven't been there for 8 years or more. Ilford has gone downhill. Don't forget to note the Green Bridge at Mile End as you pass under it, just after you pass the Queen Mary and Westfield university campus, which has trees growing on it and links Victoria Park in a green chain all the way down the Burdett Road.

Yup, I'm well prepared for the 25, given that it passes my front door

And I can't find any IRA link with the 16, but a 171 was indeed blown up in Aldwych 8 years ago.

I live on the number 16. It's a little more interesting than you've made out... honestly. I'm a bus stop, rather than bus route, kinda girlie.

CHasing The Dragon has gone, and is now an Ethiopian restaurant, I think.
