Indeed a long overdue return. |
Fantastic indeed, I can't wait! |
I've read and re-read the books many times so I was mostly listening for bits that were different. However, It was good to hear the opening titles on the radio (all proper like). Mark Wing Davey obviously can't remember what Zaphod sounds like and Trillian sounds 25 years older. I did like the way they explained the change in the voice of the book. I also note that the announcer at the end, who does the cast list and stuff, is the same one as the originals (I have the CD set). I'll be listening for the next episode but, where the heck does "tertiary phase" come from? |
You're right, it did all sound more 'proper' on the radio, and with almost perfect continuity from where everything left off back in 1980. Repeated Thursdays at 11pm, by the way. |
I have that copy of Radio Times too, as well as a giant Poster of the Ken Campbell play of it which I saw at the Rainbow Theatre. I keep thinking that it might be time to eBay them, but I am holding on for the Movie release next year. |
For some reason, the radio version of HHGTG does away with the notions of 'episodes' and 'series', instead being 'fits' and 'phases'. So, being the 3rd series, this is the Tertiary Phase. I too adored the bug-ridden upgrade of the Book's Voice, and the fact they have the same announcer. Ford and Arthur sound disturbing like their 1980 selves. |
