I walk past the Waterloo Millennium Green quite frequently, although it hadn’t occurred to me that it was more than a local initiative and that there were other Millennium Greens (so thanks for that). In normal times, lots of people eat their lunch there, and in the evening, people spill into it from the adjacent pub, the Duke of Sussex. There’s also a large model insect - a bee, I think - which arrived in comparatively recent years. The Green may be small, but it’s an appreciated local asset.
One day I'd like to be referred to as a "Brutalist icon".

Not quite sure how, though.
Indeed, I had to look twice at the 'photo' of Bow Free Wharf - it looked like a missing episode from Mary, Mungo & Midge.
I'm just relieved they've spelt Millennium correctly. I have a Millenium Close near me. Makes me weep every time I walk past the end of the road.
Andrew S beat me to it. Anyone spelling millennium correctly gets a tick in the box from me.
What is it with graffiti vandals. It's just about the only reason I'd bring back hanging and flogging
so much riveting info. thank you.
You really do create interesting content from the smallest of gems, all 3 of these mini posts sent me off on a rabbit hole of further links.
Bow scene could almost be a Doreen Fletcher painting.
I have a longstanding fascination with the Bromley Hall School. Some of the historic documents about it show it to be a terrifically forward looking, well thought out, place. It has a sort of Galt Toys feel to it. I had an exchange on twitter with the architects (LSI) back in November last year about progress on the scheme. They told me that there is now a review by Tower Hamlets Council as to whether the school will become a school again or a community facility.
