Ahh, memories..... I used to work at Fuji Film House |
i miss swiss cottage (the blog, that is - i'm not very london-savvy). |
that's a lovely escalator shot. |
I've seen a poster on the tube with a picture of an Indian/Asian bloke standing in front of what looks like that exactly that stairway with the uplighters on either side: Swiss Cottage perhaps? The strapline on the poster is something like: "Those stairs are your best friend" - something to do with preventing heart-attacks by getting regular exercise. |
Yes, it's a British Heart Foundation poster. I thought it looked like the Swiss Cottage escalator, just without the Underground sign at the bottom. (Hmm, maybe they shot the right hand escalator instead, then reflected the photo) |
Ah, I'm just back from a great few days of not travelling up that escalator every morning, and what do I see on DG? The other thing about Swiss Cottage tube station is that the cashpoint by the ticket office is a longtime favourite for bankrobbers who don't fancy doing over an actual bank. Lots of exits to the road, and lots of directions off in which to speed, I suppose. (Which other tube station is named after a pub? Elephant and Castle; though the pub hasn't been there for lifetimes). |
