I was living in America at the time and had a friend with whom I debated endlessly (I still do, but via email.) When I started on my argument for why the millenium was 2000-2001, his response was "I'm busy, go and write it down. Maybe someone who is bothered will read it."
I wrote it. Bought the domain. Learnt rudimentary HTML in 24 hours. Posted it.
I still don't think anyone actually read it, and as I didn't archive back then, it's no doubt lost forever.
Probably a good thing.
