I feel your pain. Having previously been pretty good at retail therapy (well, I'm gay, and I'm convinced that it comes with the territory), in recent months my skills have diminished sharply. So what I don't understand, then, is how come I STILL seem to have almost no money left at the end of the month ...

Well, how about this?

I've been doing a spell for a while to try to help him.

DG's not a great believer in my spells, it does have to be said.

However I now note that it has resulted in the purchase of a blue cushion. Excellent

Damn

But 3 of them are currently available in Costco at much less than the Amazon price...

How about Vaughan Williams' symphony No.2 "A London Symphony" for your Amazon Wish List? Adrian Bolt version preferred!

dg writes: amazing how wide the London-related cultural net spreads.

I was given this as a present a few years ago, and highly recommend it.

dg writes: looks rather lovely. Amazon just don't appear to have it in stock. Well, no new copies anyway.

Rickster's idea sounds pretty cool, actually. Better than buying loads of stuff you're not sure you want just for the sake of buying something. Stuff is clutter by another name.

Hey, where'd you get the diary? I thought I'd be all clever and wait until the new year to buy it, but I've not been able to find it since. Any suggestions?

dg writes: There were loads of those diaries around in bookshops at the start of January. Not seen any this month though, sorry.
