"Spitalfields feels like a market for young adults who've outgrown Camden, but aren't capitalist enough to want to go to Portobello instead." Eh. I like 'em all. One of the things I love most about London is the wealth of markets to go to. I think they've all got something to recommend them in amongst the £1 socks, "home-made" items that are exact replicas of the ones three stalls down, and touristy trash. I do end up at Spitalfields, Camden and Borough the most, but that's because I live on the Northern Line. (and work across the Thames from Borough) I'd hate to see modern development squeeze them out. Hate it, hate it, hate it. |
I agree one hundred per cent with that last sentence, DG. |
