Single: inspired to write excellent, witty and thought provoking posts that relate to your audience.
Couple: *suddenly catches slight of a blue cloak in the distance* inspired to write excellent, witty and thought provoking posts that relate to your audicen and your husband enjoys.

Enjoys or tolerates?

Tolerates and enjoys? Coz the upside of being single is nobody questioning or trying to change you, the upside of being in the right couple, is toleration and measured opinions? Maybe?

Single: no one asks you when you're about to have children

Coupled: everytime a new sprog is born, your friends saying when are you going to get down to having one then

Single: Everyone asks you to go to things because they're worried you'll slit your wrists or gain two stone in weight

Coupled: You never get invited anywhere because people assume you're busy - or they don't like your partner that much anyway.

Single: Blogs at weekends.
Coupled: Only gets round to writing comments on weekend blogs when they get to work on Monday morning.

Quentin Crisp summed it up when he said, "If you're actually *stuck with* someone, then you might as well make the best of it.

Coupled: Waking in the morning to the words, "And another thing..." (Crisp also.)

I would rather pull my fingernails out one by one than have to suffer sharing my life and home and "love" with someone, ever again.

Thank God I realised that at an early age, and saved decades of angst.

Others may have different views, of course.
