should've come to ikea with me. for some strange reason it was deserted.

I was in all day - but probably round about the time of the BIG downpour you mentioned - I looked out my window and for the first time in memory for the heavy rain - could I not see the red beacon on the spire of the church on the hill in Harrow-on-the-Hill - from where I live in NW9.

I liked your reference to "it's only water" - for some reason that reminded me of a song that a mature student who was a flat-mate at college used to play. It's a line from a Peter Gabriel song.

One of my colleagues took the day off yesterday to go to Womad. Or, judging by the weather, Womud.

just be thankful the annual fete wasn't held on hackney marshes again this year. nobody would ever be seen again. not even the Serbian gentleman with the aromatherapy concession.

Rain or not the fete was lovely. And being tall the umbrellas didn't hinder my view at all...

Marvellous!

"Ikea empty" - hahahahahahahaha.

We were on the coconut shy down near XXL for most of the afternoon. Well, they looked like coconuts from where I was standing...

We should have met up!

I'd like to formally apologise for any extra soaking you may have received by the Strongbow fiasco that was supposed to be the Popstarz tent, Strongbow forgetting to apply for the appropriate licence leaving the fabulous indie (but still beautiful) types dancing around the perimeter whilst simultaneously adding to local moisture problem (throwing free strongbow around to Elastica).

I was the hetty in the middle with the inappropriate trainers fighting off the munchkin lesbian who wouldn't take no for an answer.

Fabulous Housemate wore Marc Jacobs ($500 from New York). We're waiting for news from the dry cleaners...
